We’ve not seen or heard much from Michael Winterbottom’s new movie, Trishna since I posted the first trailer back in August but now Artificial Eye have released the second trailer for the movie which stars Freida Pinto, Riz Ahmed, Kalki Koechlin, Anurag Kashyap, Neet Mohan, Roshan Seth. We’ll be seeing the movie at the Glasgow Film Festival this week so keep your eyes peeled for our review.
The movie has recently played at the Toronto Film Festival and it goes on general release 9th March.
Self-effacing British auteur Michael Winterbottom sets his unique spin on Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the D’Urbervilles against a contemporary Indian backdrop. Freida Pinto stars as the titular Trishna, a young woman who is seduced by the wealthy son of a property developer. As the romance develops, their relationship also becomes increasingly sordid and volatile.
