Leaving a successful sitcom for the distant shores of a career on the big screen is never an easy journey. While his Scrubsmate Zach Braff has carved out his own indie-shaped niche Donald Faison’s last movie outing was as part of Skyline, a movie, which I didn’t hate as much as some, had some of the most poorly written characters in recent memory.

Still, things appear to be changing for the Clueless man as THR report tonight that he has signed up for the part of Dr Gravity in Kick-Ass 2, Jeff Wadlow’s follow up to the 2010 Matthew Vaughn hit.

Vaughn is producing this one and Faison’s Gravity is one of the team of superheroes Kick-Ass joins to stem the flow of unspeakable evil perpetrated by his nemesis Red Mist. Seriously – it’s evil. Some of the stuff in the book will have to be toned down.

Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz are returning as Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl and Christopher Mintz-Plass is also signed up. Now the rest of the crime-fighting team are to be cast – it should make for an interesting ensemble.

Here’s the new superhero team as they are revealed in the comic book, spoilers obviously if you want to go in cold. Gravity is the purple and white suited dude at the front. Click it if you want it big and in your face.
