Scarlett Johansson has entered into negotiations to lead the cast of the upcoming new instalment of the ‘Jurassic World’ franchise.

Johansson’s possible casting came just a month after it was announced that Gareth Edwards would be taking over the helm from a departing David Leitch.

According to sources, the upcoming sequel is expected to introduce a new storyline to the franchise, which has been around for thirty years. It remains uncertain whether any of the previous actors, such as Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, or Jeff Goldblum, will be making a comeback.

Frank Marshall, Patrick Crowley, David Leitch, and Kelly McCormick will produce through 87North.

Johansson is no stranger to the franchise world after starring as Black Widow in several Marvel Studios movies, including the Avengers offerings.
