Hitting cinemas in September, Brad Furman’s Runner Runner has long been on my must-watch list for the year.
Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck lead the cast, and that’s all I need to know.
Earlier in the month, we were treated to a brilliant first trailer, giving us a look at the upcoming crime-thriller. And now we’ve got a new trailer to share, via MSN, along with the film’s first three posters.
Princeton grad student Richie, believing he’s been swindled, travels to Costa Rica to confront online gambling tycoon Ivan Block. Richie is seduced by Block’s promise of immense wealth, until he learns the disturbing truth about his benefactor. When the FBI tries to coerce Richie to help bring down Block, Richie faces his biggest gamble ever: attempting to outmaneuver the two forces closing in on him.
Timberlake and Affleck star alongside a great ensemble, led by Gemma Arterton, Anthony Mackie, Oliver Cooper, Ben Schwartz, David Costabile, and Sam Palladio.
Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) is directing from a script penned by Brian Koppelman and David Levien (Rounders, Ocean’s Thirteen).
Runner Runner is set to be released on September 27th in the US and UK. I can’t wait. By all accounts, this promises to be one of the best films of the year.
