Rocket Raccoon

Marvel have today released the first in a series of new character posters for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. This one features Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) as they prepare to head into battle. Both characters will be brought to life on the big screen through the use of impressive CGI.

The rest of the team is made up of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), and Drax (Dave Bautista). They will all also be getting their own posters, but whether we’ll see a villain like Lee Pace’s Ronan the Destroyer or Karen Gilian’s Nebula get the spotlight remains to be seen.

How about Josh Brolin as Thanos?! Well, it’s a nice thought, but the ever secretive Marvel are more than likely saving that particular reveal for the movie itself.  Regardless, we’ll be sure to bring you the rest of these posters throughout the week, so stay tuned to HeyUGuys for more on Guardians of the Galaxy!

Rocket

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st in the US and July 31st in the UK.
