Ahead of its Cannes Film Festival Premiere Good Time, which stars Robert Pattinson, has seen its first trailer debut online which oozes melancholy drama from its seeping pores.

Over the course of his career so far, Pattinson has done more than enough to break away from the shackles of his Twilight fame which made him and Kristen Stewart household names, his new role as Connie Nikas in Good Time looks set to show the world he is more than just a pretty face as he dons the hobo look with a goatee and a messy mop of blonde hair.

Police chases, running through glass doors, prison brawls and a yarn being weaved is displayed in the trailer of stylistic values which jump between events at an intriguing rate, blended by a depressing soundtrack which gives nothing away leaving a dialogue-light world very rarely seen in trailers.

Good Time

The film centers around two brothers who undertake a botched bank robbery which lands one of the brothers in prison, his brother Constantine ‘Connie’ Nikas (Pattinson) embarks on a twisted odyssey through the city’s underworld in an increasingly desperate – and dangerous – attempt to get his brother Nick (Benny Safdie) out of jail.

Over the course of one adrenalized night, Connie finds himself on a mad descent into violence and mayhem as he races against the clock to save his brother and himself, knowing their lives hang in the balance.

Directed by independent filmmakers, brothers Josh and Benny Safdie, Good Time is written by Josh Safdie and sees Jennifer Jason Leigh who will star in the upcoming new series of Twin Peaks and Captain Phillips breakout star Barkhad Abdi starring alongside Pattinson.
