Robert Downey Jr. and Filmmaker Shane Black are set to reunite to develop a new Amazon series based on Donald E. Westlake’s ‘Parker’ crime fiction series.

Out of the stalls first will be a feature titled ‘Playing Dirty’ which will see Downey in the role of Parker, a professional thief with a brutal, mercenary work ethic.

Black will direct and co-write the adaptation alongside Charles Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi. Joel Silver is attached to produce alongside Susan Downey for Team Downey and Marc Toberoff. Ezra Emanuel will co-produce.

Black and Downey had previously worked together back in 2005 on ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’ alongside Susan Downey. Black made his directorial debut on the film while Downey starred opposite Val Kilmer.

Downey is set to star opposite Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt and Matt Damon in Christopher Nolan’s biopic ‘Oppenheimer’ at Universal. He will also star in HBO’s upcoming drama series ‘The Sympathizer,’ which will be helmed by Park Chan-wook.
