Director Sir Ridley Scott has a number of projects in the pipeline, and with Exodus: Gods and Kings set to be released this December, his next looks set to be  The Martian, starring Matt Damon, for 2015.

So, where does that leave the long talked about Blade Runner 2 and Prometheus sequels?

Both movies are expected at some point in the next few years, but neither have a firm production start date as of yet. They do however have writers attached, with Green Lantern’s Michael Green the latest to be attached to a Blade Runner follow-up. In a recent interview, Scott was quick to praise the now finished script.

“It’s written and it’s damn good. Of course it involves Harrison, who is a survivor after all these years—despite the accident,” he said, referring to Harrison Ford’s accident on the set of Star Wars. So yes, that will happen.”

While it is good to hear that Blade Runner 2 is finally coming together, another project that fans are eagerly anticipating is the Prometheus sequel. The 2012 movie divided opinions at the time, with many arguing that id didn’t live up to their expectations when compared to sci-fi classic Alien.

Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are both expected to return in the Jack Paglen and Michael Green penned sequel though, and after revealing that Blade Runner 2 could come after The Martian, Scott had this to say about whether or not he will be able to meet the March 4th, 2016 release date for Prometheus 2 which has been set by 20th Century Fox. ““That’s the problem, I’ve got a lot of ducks in a row. But they’re all written.”

Which of these sequels would you most like to see Scott direct first?
