1. Avengers Assemble

Joss Whedon created a number of beloved TV shows, wrote a critically acclaimed run on the Astonishing X-Men comic book series, and directed the brilliant big screen follow-up to Firefly, Serenity.

The news that he would write and direct The Avengers (known as Avengers Assemble here in the UK) was met with an overwhelmingly positive response, and the finished product was something very special indeed. Sure, it got a little bogged down by us having to catch up with each of the characters during the first act and the Chitauri were taken out far too easily, but this is still one of the best superhero movies of all-time.

Seeing the Avengers Assembled was an amazing moment, as were battles between the likes of Thor and Hulk. Packed full of great action, humour and a compelling story, Whedon nailed the tone and not only satisfied fans, but also regular moviegoers who helped turn it into the second highest grossing movie of all-time. There are so many stand out scenes, it’s impossible to list them all here!
