Sky has unveiled the gripping official trailer for its upcoming Sky Original thriller ‘Prisoner’ — a high-stakes, pulse-racing series that locks its characters in a deadly game of trust, survival, and shifting loyalties.
Led by Tahar Rahim and Izuka Hoyle, the series is created and written by Matt Charman and directed by BAFTA-winner Otto Bathurst.
At its core, ‘Prisoner’ is a story that rattles its own cage. Amber (Hoyle), a principled young prison transport officer, is tasked with escorting Tibor (Rahim), a highly dangerous and calculating killer, to court where he’s set to testify against a powerful crime syndicate. But when their convoy is savagely ambushed, the rules dissolve in an instant.
What follows is a breathless flight through chaos. Handcuffed together—literally and metaphorically—Amber and Tibor become unlikely allies, the hunter and the hunted sharing the same fragile heartbeat. Survival demands cooperation, but trust? That’s a currency neither can afford.
As the syndicate tightens its grip, the pair are forced into a relentless race against time. Every step forward is a gamble, every decision a moral tightrope. Amber must confront the uncomfortable question: how far is she willing to go to stay alive—and to protect what matters most?
The series also boasts a stellar supporting ensemble, including Eddie Marsan, Catherine McCormack, Leonie Benesch, Finn Bennett, Sam Troughton, Laurie Davidson, Ken Nwosu, Brían F. O’Byrne and Youssef Kerkour.
