To celebrate the release of Black Box, one of the four movies that form part of Blumhouse’s special event Welcome To Blumhouse, we spoke to the legendary Phylicia Rashad about her role in Black Box.
After losing his wife and his memory in a car accident, a single father, Nolan (Mamoudou Athie) undergoes an agonizing experimental treatment that causes him to question who he really is. The treatment is administered by Dr. Lilian Brooks (Rashad), who’s treatments seem to help Nolan with his memories before it all takes a dark turn. Raschad spoke about what lured her to the script, being alongside a largely unknown cast and the vibrancy that brings to the film and the story of a mother trying to do right despite it going against her personal inclinations.
