HBO have released the first full teaser trailer for the third season of their Prohibition-era gangster hit series Boardwalk Empire and it’s a portentous one.
Those following Terence Winter’s period drama will have had their bones rattled by the twists and turns of the previous season, which saw the nebulous character of Nucky Thompson fade almost into the background before emerging , buffeted by the events of those around him, sharper and more dangerous than ever.
This new trailer doesn’t give too much away about the coming season suffice to say that this is a show whose confidence is growing.The new season begins on HBO on the 16th of September, here in the UK Sky Atlantic will have it up shortly after one assumes.
If you haven’t seen Season 2 then this trailer won’t spoil too much, but it’s still advisable to wait until you’ve seen the whole of season two – because, let’s face it, you are going to do that. Aren’t you?
