Noah-Poster

As promised, following the first poster and trailer previews that surfaced yesterday, Paramount has launched the first trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s biblical epic, Noah.

Russell Crowe takes centre stage as the eponymous figure, and if you had any concerns that Aronofsky would have trouble creating a scope worthy of the tale of the Flood, then this trailer should definitely put those worries to bed. Visually, it looks to be every bit as epic as you’d hope.

Russell Crowe stars as Noah, a man chosen by God for a great task before an apocalyptic flood destroys the world.

Jennifer Connelly heads up a very promising supporting cast as Crowe’s on-screen wife, alongside Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Douglas Booth, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, Kevin Durand, Marton Csokas, Mark Margolis, and Dakota Goyo.

Aronofsky is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ari Handel (The Fountain), with the ever-brilliant John Logan (Gladiator, Skyfall) hired for a rewrite.

The blockbuster marks the anticipated follow-up to Aronofsky’s Oscar-winning Black Swan, released back at the tail-end of 2010, and it looks like it’s going to have been well worth the wait to see him back in the director’s chair once more.

Noah will be released on March 28th, 2014 in the US and UK. With just over four months to go, let the countdown begin. Here’s the first trailer to make that wait a little easier. Enjoy.

UPDATE – there’s another trailer doing the rounds which has some new footage from JoBlo – check that out below.
