Nicholas Hoult looks set to be jumping from one comic book franchise to another, the X-Men star is said to be in talks to join James Gunn’s ‘Superman: Legacy.’

Hoult wpuld join the already cast David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan who are already set to play Clark Kent and Lois Lane. The cast also consists of Nathan Fillion (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”) who will play Guy Gardner, one of the figures known as Green Lantern, he will be just one of several people in the new DC Universe to wear the emerald ring that imbues its wearer with the powers of the Green Lantern; Isabela Merced (“Dora and the Lost City of Gold”) will play Hawkgirl, one of DC’s oldest superheroes, who first appeared in 1940; and Edi Gathegi (“X-Men: First Class”) will play Mister Terrific aka Michael Holt, an ingenious inventor who operates as Mister Terrific with the multipurpose, mechanical “T-Spheres” he created.

Back in January, producer and DC co-chief Peter Safran said the film will focus “on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old-fashioned.”

“Superman: Legacy” is the initial feature film in DC Studios’ relaunch of the DC universe in film and television. Gunn previously posted that due to the work of his production team during the strikes, the film is still set to make its originally scheduled release of July 11, 2025.
