Doughtery’s latest effort is entitled Making Friends, and despite running less than two minutes in length its a must-see for fans of Trick R Treat – a film that despite never getting a theatrical release has gone on to achieve cult status on DVD and Blu-ray. Making Friends obviously takes its inspiration from Frankenstein, and the result is actually a rather sweet little film imbued with a certain macabre charm as we follow the efforts of a young boy attempting to build himself a friend to accompany him when he goes trick or treating.

This isn’t the first time Doughtery has revisited the Trick ‘r Treat universe; he’s previously overseen a couple of other shorts which, like Making Friends, were all used to advertise FEARnet’s annual Trick ‘r Treat marathon and are all worth a look while we wait for him to get round to starting work on that long-promised sequel…
