In past interviews, Steven Moffatt has been quoted as saying: “He’s the darkest villain we’ve had. There was always something charming and engaging about Moriarty. The first episode – “The Six Thatchers” – will premiere on January 1st, and many fans believe that will be a loose adaptation of “The Six Napoleons.” We’ll have to wait and see, but if comments from Benedict Cumberbatch are any indication, we’ll have to be very patient for a fifth series due to both his and Martin Freeman’s increasingly hectic movie schedules.
Will series four mark the end of Sherlock in that case? Who know, but we’ll no doubt have a much better idea by the time this latest batch of episodes wraps up. At this rate though, even if a new season does happen, it probably won’t be until late 2018/early 2019…
