Liam Neeson returns to the big screen in Taken 2 next weekend, and will no doubt be kicking off the October box office in earnest, following the immense success of the original film.
We caught two new clips from the film at the end of last week, and now we’ve got another clip from the film, this time featuring a chase sequence with Neeson’s on-screen daughter, with the excellent Maggie Grace reprising her role.
“Bryan Mills is the retired CIA agent with a “particular set of skills” who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from kidnappers. When the father of one of the villains Bryan killed swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape. Bryan then employs his unique tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers, one by one.”
Olivier Megaton (Colombiana) is behind the camera this time around, directing from a script once more penned by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, with Famke Janssen reprising her role alongside Neeson and Grace, and Rade Serbedzija starring as the antagonist.
Taken 2 will hit theatres next Thursday in the UK on 4th October, followed a day later in the US on 5th October. We’ve seen plenty from the film to suggest it’s going to have action a-plenty, and if you’re a fan of the original, you should be safe in the hopes that Neeson will be taking more names second time around.
