The Rite sees Anthony Hopkins as a priest who collars up against the forces of evil and the marketing is putting that unnerving stare of his to good use in the new demon-bashing exorcist thriller.
It’s a doom and gloom affair for Mikael Hafstroem’s scarefest, and if you’re not already signed up after the many, many trailers and images then this one won’t glue itself to your subconscious. But the cast, which has Toby Jones, Ciaran Hinds and Alice Braga alongside Sir Anthony, does raise interest. Pea-soup and popcorn? Sounds like a great mix, let’s hope this one has invention along with its incantations.
