Although there was a time when CG animation threatened to all-but obliterate all other non-live action formats, stop-motion has stood its ground and in fact delivered a good number of stand-out classics – Coraline, Fantastic Mr Fox, Curse of the Were-Rabbit and (by the looks of things) Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists have all brought top-drawer quality from the format.

If the trailers are to be believed (I know, I know) then ParaNorman looks like being another strong entry in this category, bringing some excellently creative gross bits with strong characterisation and stylistic flourishes all its own. IMPA, always a strong source for posters, have got a new international poster for ParaNorman and although that “RealD 3D” logo is a little dispiriting, the colour palate and ghoulish underworld creatures are delightful enough to overcome that minor quibble.

Do please go ahead and enjoy the poster below and by all means catch up on the rest of our posts about ParaNorman as well. They are right here. Right. Here.

Thank you IMP. We really appreciate you.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
