Friends With Kids, Jennifer Westfeldt’s directorial debut, has a pretty great cast working for it in the form of Adam Scott, Westfeldt herself, Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, Chris O’Dowd, Megan Fox, and Edward Burns.

The US have this hitting their cinemas today, 9th March, but we’ll have to wait until the summer to see it here. In promotion of the US release, Yahoo Movies have a new clip from the film that see O’Dowd fighting with his wife, Rudolph, about the impossibility trying to set their friend (presumably Westfeldt) up with a younger man.

“A close-knit circle of friends are at that moment in life when children arrive and everything changes. The last two singles in the group observe the effect that kids have had on their friends’ relationships and wonder if there’s a better way. They decide to have a kid together – and date other people.”

We’ve seen a handful of things from the film already (which you can catch up on here), and it looks like a comedy/romance film with potential. The cast is impressive, and it will be interesting to see Westfeldt’s reception behind the camera after the acclaim she received with her first screenplay, Kissing Jessica Stein.

Friends With Kids is out now in the US, and will be here in the UK on 29th June, so we’ve got a few more months to wait if you’re on this side of the Atlantic too. Until then, here’s the new clip for you, in which we also get to see O’Dowd and Rudolph going through that (crazy) old ritual of removing the ‘display pillows’ from their bed before they go to sleep that it’s always entertaining to see, and always begs the questions, ‘What are those pillows really doing? Who are they there for?’ Enjoy.
