Point the imagination and creative force of Guillermo del Toro at an audience and chances are there’ll be some spine tingling going on, as the man has been behind the camera of some of the most effective and emotionally engaging horrors of recent years.

News that he was executive-producing Troy Nixey’s debut film Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark was welcomed by genre fans and London Frightfesters will be among the first to see the film when it opens the festival in August.

Three new clips and a whole host of images have popped up online, so its time to get your peek at the story of a young girl who moves into a new house with her father and his girlfriend. Things, naturally, take a turn for the terrifying as they uncover demonic forces lurking, wanting to claim the young girl for their own.

If you want your face to fall off with fear then click here for all of our coverage of the film, and in particular have a look at the trailer which has just the right amount of tease.

On another note is this the first time Guy Pearce and Alan Dale have appeared on screen together since their stint in 80s soap phenomenon Neighbours? Hopefully Bouncer will put in an appearance too.

Oooh. Spooky. It's like they knew....

Anyhoo, here are the three clips and then a main course of stills and a tasty dessert of some behind the scenes snaps. Enjoy,
