One of the things we loved about Duncan Jones’ debut Moon was how flipping great it was. It thrust Jones into the spotlight and while we wait for his Blade Runneresque future shock Mute we are in the fortunate position of nearing the release of his follow up film Source Code.
Jake Gyllenhaal leads the cast of Jeffrey Wright, Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga on an adventure in the near future using classified technology to uncover the identity of a train bomber before he strikes again. Gyllenhaal has to relive the last eight minutes of a man who died on the train using this time bending body swapping tech, eight minutes over and over until he finds the bomber. It’s a great premise and the trailers have sold it pretty well to me already – where Jones is involved I’ll be there.
