Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive), Robin Wright (Unbreakable), James Frecheville (Animal Kingdom) and Xavier Samuel (The Loved Ones) have signed on to star in The Grandmothers.
The Grandmothers, an adaptation of Doris Lessing’s highly acclaimed novella, centers on two childhood friends and neighbours who each fall in love with the other’s son, to the disgust of the boys’ wives.
Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel) is attached to direct from a screenplay by Christopher Hampton (Atonement).
Filming is scheduled to start in February.
