Our eagle eyed friends over at The Pixar Blog have just spotted that Disney Pixar have registered this logo for Monsters University (the sequel to Pixar’s fourth feature-length movie in 2001, Monsters Inc.). This news also follows the news late last week that Dan Scanlon will direct the movie.
Here’s what they tell us:
Disney Enterprises, Inc. registered this logo for Monsters University with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on March 24, five days before the title was publicly announced. The four applications cover everything from toys and games to clothing and office supplies.
This new logo isn’t too far off the one that Jon mocked up for his post the other day. If anyone at Pixar needs a hand for logos and general movie goodness, please feel free to hire Jon but obviously we want all your news first and I need him 50% of the time! That is all!
