Monica Bellucci has entered negotiations to join Jenna Ortega and Michael Keaton in the sequel ‘Beetlejuice 2.’

Bellucci will play Beetlejuice’s wife. She joins Ortega – who is leading the cast – with Michael Keaton reprising his role as the conniving afterlife exorcist. Winona Ryder is also back, playing Ortega’s mother. Catherine O’Hara is also among the returnees, while Justin Theroux is a newcomer.

Plot details are being kept firmly under wraps.

Tim Burton – who directed the original – is back in the directors’ chair. Burton and Brad Pitt’s Plan B, among others, are producing. Al Gough and Miles Millar, the creators of the Ortega-starring ‘Wednesday’ Netflix series, wrote the screenplay.

Belluci is currently starring in ‘Mafia Mamma’ alongside Toni Colette, She has previously starred in the ‘Matrix’ movies, ‘The Passion of the Christ’ to James Bond movie ‘Spectre’.
