It has been revealed today that British actress Rebecca Ferguson is in talks to join Michael Fassbender in director Tomas Alfredson’s big screen adaptation of The Snowman. The movie is set to revolve around idiosyncratic detective Harry Hole in the Oslo police department. This particular story has Hole investigating the murder of a woman whose scarf is found wrapped around a snowman, and Ferguson joining the cast is worth getting excited over.

However, the cherry on the cake is the fact that the Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation star is being eyed for a lead female role in the anticipated Prometheus sequel, Alien: Paradise Lost.

There’s no word on who she’ll be playing, but Ridley Scott did recently reveal that the movie is going to feature a new team of explorers alongside the returning Fassbender (meaning Ferguson could be working with him twice over the next few years) and Noomi Rapace.

Deadline also mentions early buzz around Alien: Paradise Lost’s screenplay is very strong, and both Scott and the studio are happy with how the most recent draft has turned out.

Following the success of Mission: Impossible, Ferguson has found herself very much in demand. She was offered (and ultimately declined) a role in X-Men spinoff Gambit and is rumoured to be among those in the running for Captain Marvel. The latter would be great, but the actress joining the cast of Alien: Paradise Lost would make it even more exciting!
