Michelle Monaghan (Gone Baby Gone) and Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger) will co-star in offbeat rom-com A Many Splintered Thing, Deadline has announced exclusively.
Written by screenwriters Chris Shafer and Paul Vicknair, A Many Splintered Thing centers on a disillusioned young man (Evans) who forms a platonic bond with a breathtakingly beautiful woman (Monaghan) in an attempt to conquer her heart.
The film, which is being co-produced by Wonderland Sound & Vision and Voltage Pictures, will be directed by newcomer Justin Reardon. Shooting is due to start next month.
Monaghan has been on the rise ever since wowing audiences and critics alike in Shane Black’s seminal dark comedy Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, while Evans has become something of an A-list star in recent months, capped off by a starring role in last year’s The Avengers.
Assuming all goes to plan, expect A Many Splintered Thing to feature heavily on next year’s festival circuit.
