Gal Gadot

Production doesn’t begin on director John Hillcoat’s (The Road, Lawless) Triple Nine until the summer, but with a cast this impressive, you know that the movie will be something special.

Open Road Films have now finalised a deal to pre-buy domestic distribution rights for the film, with Michael B. Jordan (The Fantastic Four), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), Gal Gadot (Batman Vs. Superman) and Michael Pena (End of Watch) all now confirmed as joining previously announced cast members Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Casey Affleck (Out of the Furnace) and Kate Winslet (Divergent).

According to Deadline, the drama focuses on “a crew of dirty cops blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist. The only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down”. Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action-packed finale filled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.”

That sounds like one heck of a movie, wouldn’t you agree? It’s thought that Triple Nine will be released in 2015.
