There’s a lot of positive buzz surrounding the upcoming female led Ocean’s Eight, and while there have been reports that George Clooney might show up to help pass the mantle to a new group of thieves, Matt Damon has now confirmed that he’ll be making an appearance.

Talking at the premiere of Manchester By The Sea, the Jason Bourne star revealed that he’ll be shooting a small cameo in the movie after his key role in the original Ocean’s trilogy.

“I’m doing a little bit in the movie,” Damon shared. “I haven’t read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I’m excited to see what those women do with it. It’s going to be fun.”

Ocean’s Eight obviously isn’t a reboot as it will be set in the same world as the other movies, and the incredible cast will be made up of names likeĀ Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Helena Bonham Carter, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling and rapper Awkwafina.

It remains to be seen who else from the original cast will end up making an appearance in Ocean’s Eight, but it’s probably safe to assume that Damon won’t be the only familiar face. Either way, this is definitely shaping up to now be one of 2018’s most exciting releases.
