Mark Ruffalo has joined the cast of Ryan Reynolds led sci-adventure ‘The Adam Project’ at  Netflix and Skydance.

‘Get Out’ star Catherine Keener, newcomer Walker Scobell and Alex Mallari Jr has also joined the cast which already includes Zoe Saldana and Jennifer Garner.

Ruffalo will take on the role of Reynolds’ dad, a brilliant physicist. Keener will play the movie’s villain, a woman who has stolen powerful technology from the physicist.

Scobell is playing Reynolds’ younger self, while Mallari is the villain’s right hand.

The story follows Reynold’s character, a man who travels back in time to get help from his 13-year-old self. Together, they have to find their late father, who is now the same age as Reynolds and set things right in order to save the future.

Shawn Levy is directing the feature which reunites him with Reynolds after working on ‘Free Guy’ together.

Levy’s 21 Laps, Reynolds’ Maximum Effort and David Ellison’s Skydance, which developed the project in-house, are producing the movie. Production is now underway in Vancouver.

Ruffalo recently played a duel role in the tv series ‘I Know This Much Is True’, for which he won the best actor in a limited series Emmy.

Keener’s future projects include ‘Croods 2’ and upcoming Netflix series, ‘Brand New Cherry Flavor’.
