With Hannibal looking like it’s officially over and done with, the cast is moving on and lining up any number of different projects. Things are looking particularly good for Mads Mikkelsen as not only was he recently confirmed as a member of the Star Wars: Rogue One cast, but a new report reveals that he’s now in talks to take on a villainous role in Doctor Strange.

There’s no word on who he’ll play other than the fact that he’s set to be, “another antagonist to [Benedict] Cumberbatch’s titular sorcerer.” With Chiwetel Ejiofor starring as the evil Baron Mordo, it would make sense for the Casino Royale star to be playing his mentor Dormammu.

Time will tell on that front, but one thing we do know for sure is that he isn’t going to be playing a bad guy in Star Wars: Rogue One next year. While there’s no denying he’s naturally suited to that kind of character, it’s nice to know they’re going down a different route.

“It is very important role, a much I can say,” the actor recent revealed, before adding, “No, my character is actually not a bad guy, and then I can not say more. I can also say that the movie will be shot in Iceland and England. And the filming will last for three months.”

So, who could he be? Once again, we’ll have to wait and see, but if you’re a fan of Mads Mikkelsen (and let’s face it, you really should be) 2016 is going to be one heck of a year.
