Prime Video has released a new trailer for ‘Madden,’ the upcoming sports drama inspired by the extraordinary life and career of legendary NFL coach, broadcaster and video game icon John Madden.
Directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker David O. Russell, ‘Madden’ stars Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage as the football legend, with Christian Bale portraying Al Davis, the pioneering owner of the Oakland Raiders and Madden’s close friend and collaborator.
The film chronicles Madden’s remarkable journey, from his Super Bowl-winning partnership with Davis and the Raiders to his transformation into one of football’s most recognisable voices. It also explores how Madden helped build the worldwide Madden NFL video game franchise, turning his name into a cultural phenomenon that reached far beyond the sport.
At the heart of the story is the man behind the legend, including Madden’s lifelong friendships, his partnership with his daring wife Virginia, and his infectious passion for people and football.
Cage leads the cast as Madden, while Bale stars as Al Davis. Kathryn Hahn, Sienna Miller, John Mulaney and Shane Gillis also feature in the film.
