Laurence Fishburne has been hinting at a secret Marvel movie he has in the pipeline in a recent interview and it’s got a few tongues wagging. Fishburne is no stranger to the superhero world of movies after appearing as Perry White in both Man of Steel and Batman V Superman and more recently crossing over that line from DC to appear in Marvel’s upcoming Ant-Man sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

During a recent press junket for Last Flag Flying, Fishburne opened up to Collider during an interview about his childhood love of Marvel, as well as a super secret project he is working on with Marvel that he pitched, one in which he hopes will “change the world”.

I’ve got black-ish going on, I’m developing something else for Marvel that I can’t talk about. It’s gonna be really cool. It’s gonna change the world, we hope (laughs). I went to Marvel and pitched them something that really couldn’t work out—there was a lot of legal red tape that just [was] something they couldn’t work out. But then they came back with the offer for Ant-Man and the Wasp and then they said, ‘Hey, what do you think of this?’ and I went ‘Oh yeah that, yes!’ so…

Clearly, he has signed up to Marvel’s secrecy memo and giving absolutely nothing away at this point but the news certainly wets the imagination palette regarding what the project will be, could it be a film?, TV series? We simply don’t know at this point but we will be watching closely for developments.

Fishburne is still currently in production with Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, and whilst not giving away too much information on the role his character plays he did offer up the information that he will play Hank Pym’s assistant.

All I can tell you is I’m playing Bill Foster, who was Hank Pym’s assistant. That’s how I enter into the world and I’m very excited. Peyton Reed is directing it, who directed the first one. It’s gonna be as fun and cool and smart as the first one.”
