We waited ten months to learn the fate of Jon Snow, but the latest episode of Game of Thrones finally brought the fan-favourite character back from the dead. Resurrected by the sorceress Melisandre, season six is going to be a very interesting year for the now very much alive Lord Commander and his rebirth is no doubt going to shake the show up in a big way.

Talking in the video below, Kit Harington apologises for having to lie to fans, and promises that, “It’s a massive season for Jon. It’s his biggest season for him so far.” Based on what we learned in last night’s instalment of Game of Thrones, that may include a battle against the despicable Ramsay Bolton’s army as they go to war for control of Winterfell and the North.

Just how different the resurrected Jon Snow will be remains to be seen, but we also have a first look at the next episode of Game of Thrones – titled “Oathbreaker” – which is described as follows: “Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce). Arya (Maisie Williams) trains to be No One. Varys (Conleth Hill) finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift.” So, no mention of Jon then!

However, he can be glimpsed in the trailer as the astonished wildling watch on in awe.
