Director Ben Wheatley’s Kill List is gripping and mystifying in equal measure – just exactly as he wanted it to be, apparently.

The film has garnered an impressive wave of positive press prior to its UK opening this week and while not for the squeamish or anyone looking for a tidy genre spoon feeding, it’s a thrilling ride that will baffle and infuriate some while delighting many more.

I spoke with Wheatley last week about the kind of experience he wanted to create for viewers and the ideas and intentions that went into the making of the film.

Kill List is out in UK cinemas this Friday, the 2nd of September and comes highly recommended – you can catch up on all of our coverage right here.
