Disney has officially announced ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,’ starring Jude Law and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ director Jon Watts as executive producer on the series.

Revealed at Star Wars Celebration, the series will follow a group of 10-year-old kids from a small planet who get lost in that galaxy far, far away and must try to find their way home. The story will take place after ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi’ and will fit within the timeline ‘The Mandalorian’ and Ahsoka take place in.

Watts and Ford had been using the code name ‘Grammar Rodeo.’

Watts was on hand at the Star Wars Celebration expo yesterday to reveal the show’s official title and Law’s casting. He says the series “stars four kids but is not a kids show” and has previously been compared to 1980s Amblin Entertainment coming of age features in tone.

Created by @Spider-Man: No Way Home’s’ Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will serve as producers.

Star Wars Celebration 2022 is being held May 26-29 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California just as the latest live-action Star Wars series, ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’, hits Disney+ today. Other panels to be held during the fan weekend include Light & Magic (previewing the Disney+ docuseries debuting July 27), an Attack of the Clones 20th Anniversary Celebration and Mando+: A Conversation with Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni.
