Thanos

He made a brief appearance in the mid-credits scene of Avengers Assemble, but fans have since been left wondering who exactly will provide Thanos with a voice when he returns this year in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Well, it has been revealed today that it will be Josh Brolin who voices the iconic villain, with various sources confirming that the Sin City: A Dame to Kill For actor is attached to the role.

However, that’s not all! The Wrap goes on to reveal that the Brolin will also lend his voice to Avengers: Age of Ultron, throwing pretty much everything we thought we knew about that movie into question! However, it will likely set the stage for a return in the third Avengers movie as previously rumoured.

For those of you unfamiliar with Thanos, he’s an extremely brutal and powerful alien who desires nothing more than the Infinity Stones with which he can rule the universe. That’s why they’ve been mentioned numerous times since the release of Avengers Assemble, and Thanos’ quest to get his hands on both the and the Infinity Gauntlet to control them with promises to make up a big part of Marvel’s Phase 3 plans!

Though he’s only voicing Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy, it seems likely that Brolin would provide full motion capture for him (similar to Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk) if he does indeed play a larger role in The Avengers 3. However, that’s simply speculation at this point as we’ll have to wait and see.

Either way, this is very exciting news, and a great choice of actor to bring this menacing villain to life on the big screen! What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts below!
