Season four of House of Cards is of course shrouded in secrecy, hence why we’re only just now finding out that Joel Kinnaman (The Killing, RoboCop) is going to appear in season four. As you can see, the US Twitter account for Netflix made the news official earlier today.

Unfortunately, character details have not yet been revealed, but the cryptic photo below certainly leaves us with a lot to think about. They don’t exactly look like friends anyway!

The Suicide Squad star joins other House of Cards newcomers Neve Campbell and Colm Feore. Based on the various teasers we’ve seen for season four so far, the show will this year revolve around Frank Underwood’s quest to hold onto his presidency for another term.

House of Cards was actually renewed for a firth season last week, but with that came the disappointing news that showrunner Beau Willimon isn’t going to be returning to take charge. On the plus side, Kevin Spacey ended up taking home a Screen Actors Guild Award for best actor in a drama series shortly after, so things are still going well for the acclaimed series.

House of Cards marks Kinnaman’s first TV role since The Killing wrapped back in 2014.
