Rick Flagg is far from an A-List comic book character, but Warner Bros. have been hoping to land an A-List actor to play the leader of the Suicide Squad! Tom Hardy was attached for some time, but he sadly ended up dropping out of the David Ayer helmed movie due to commitments to a number of other projects.
It then looked like Jake Gyllenhaal was going to replace him, but he would end up passing on the chance to reunite with his End of Watch director. A few names have since emerged, but we now have a frontrunner!
That is The Killing and RoboCop star Joel Kinnaman, and a number of sites have his pegged as being the favourite to land the role. However, just in case things don’t work out, Joel Edgerton (Warrior) and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) are also being considered. It’s hard to find faults with any of these men!
The amazing cast of Suicide Squad also includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne. Also thought to be in talks are Viola Davis and Batman v Superman’s Jesse Eisenberg.
