Netflix has unveiled the first gripping trailer for ‘Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole’ (Norwegian title: Jo Nesbøs Harry Hole), a dark and brooding crime saga that drags viewers deep into Oslo’s frozen shadows. Based on the bestselling novels from acclaimed author Jo Nesbø, the nine-episode series premieres globally on Netflix on March 26.
At its icy core, ‘Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole’ is a whodunnit serial killer mystery led by the infamous anti-hero Harry Hole, one of modern crime fiction’s most enduring and complicated detectives. The trailer teases a chilling hunt through snow-dusted streets and dimly lit interrogation rooms, where every clue feels like it has frostbite.
Harry Hole is brilliant, relentless, and fraying at the edges. A homicide detective battling his own inner storms, he finds himself locked in a deadly pursuit of a serial killer whose crimes ripple through the city like cracks across a frozen lake.
But this is not merely a cat-and-mouse thriller. Beneath the surface lies a layered character drama about loyalty, corruption, and moral decay. Harry goes head-to-head with his long-time adversary and fellow detective Tom Waaler, a man whose badge gleams while his ethics rot beneath it.
The tension between the two men powers the series. As the criminal justice system bends under pressure, Harry must navigate blurred lines and buried truths to catch a killer and expose Waaler before time runs out.
Stepping into the role of Harry Hole is Tobias Santelmann, known for his work in Exit and The Last Kingdom. Santelmann’s take on the detective promises intensity and vulnerability in equal measure.
Pia Tjelta, recognised for Made in Oslo and State of Happiness, stars as Rakel Fauke, a pivotal figure in Harry’s turbulent personal life.
Meanwhile, Joel Kinnaman, whose credits include Altered Carbon and The Suicide Squad, takes on the role of Tom Waaler.
