If nothing else the chance to see The Hurt Locker’s Jeremy Renner back on the big screen has me interested in this piece of news.
Long rumoured to be playing the Marvel character Hawkeye in the forthcoming Avengers movie it now seems as though we’re a step closer to having confirmation.
HeatVision have the news of the final negotiations between Marvel and Renner (and I’m sure Whedon is in there somewhere) for the Oscar nominated actor to take on the role he was first said to be orbiting last December.
What occurs to me at once is that competing on screen with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson and all the rest of the Marvel team will necessitate some characters being sidelined, or at the very least having their role in the Avenger movie diminished, and as there’s no rumours about a Hawkeye movie on the cards I’ll assume that the whispers about paycuts may make a little more sense.
