To celebrate the eagerly anticipated release of Halloween Kills, which finally opens in cinemas this week, we spoke to its legendary star and director to find about Michael Myers’ return.

The Strode women (Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer and Andi Maichak) join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all.

Chatting to star, the incomparable Jamie Lee Curtis, she told us about returning to Haddonfield, how Gordon Green and Danny McBride have smartly layered real life events – #MeToo, civil unrest across the world and more – into a slasher film and why their cinema upbringing makes them perfect to continue John Carpenter’s legacy.

Gordon Green, meanwhile, tells us about approaching a sequel and whether there was always a plan, bringing new elements to the table we haven’t seen before, why audiences are still drawn to this franchise and protecting the theatrical community experience and why it matters.
