It’s been quite a day. First Miley Cyrus cancels on me, then a giant ash cloud forces the Iron Man 2 premiere out of England and now (brace yourselves Bond fans) I come home from a night out to discover that Bond 23 has been delayed “indefinitely”.

ComingSoon.net have heard from the producers of the Bond franchise Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli (EON) that because of MGM’s financial woes, the 23rd movie has to be delayed.

“Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on ‘Bond 23’ indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of ‘Bond 23,'” stated Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli jointly.

There’s been speculation for a while as to what will happen to MGM, with the most talk being that brothers Ridley and Tony Scott may head up the studio, coupled with the news that the Weinstein Brothers might take over. I don’#t have a brother but if i did, I might throw a bid in. MGM is currently around in $4bn debt but since the studio is only worth around £1bn, it’s going to be a toughie to sort.

More info as we get it.
