Stepping on board a project to replace a director who had laid out a very particular vision is no easy task. It’s even more daunting a prospect when that person leaving the project is Edgar Wright. But it’s something that Peyton Reed has succeeded in, with the brilliantly funny and gloriously entertaining production Ant-Man.

When we sat down with the director to speak about his endeavour into the Marvel Cinematic Universe – he told us about that very challenge, and how we went about creating a tone and vision distinctive to himself. He also gives us his reaction to a rather interesting fan theory we posed, and tells us whether he thinks he may be making more Marvel movies in the future.

Ant-Man is released on July 17th. You can read our review of the film here.
