Sony Pictures has released the final trailer for ‘Insidious: Out of the Further,’ offering one last terrifying glimpse into the next chapter of the hugely successful supernatural horror franchise before it arrives in cinemas later this month.
Having earned more than $740 million at the global box office, the ‘Insidious’ series returns with an entirely new family facing unimaginable horrors, while expanding the mythology of The Further in ways never seen before.
At the centre of the story is Gemma, played by Amelia Eve, a young mother raising her daughter in the home where she grew up. After discovering she possesses the terrifying ability to travel into The Further, the eerie purgatorial realm of lost souls central to the ‘Insidious’ universe, Gemma soon realises her gift is unlike anything that has come before.
When a malevolent force begins hunting her, Gemma discovers she can do more than simply enter The Further. She can bring its terrifying inhabitants back into the real world. Once the demons become aware of her extraordinary power, they seize the opportunity to turn our world into their hunting ground, unleashing a new wave of supernatural terror.
Alongside Amelia Eve, the film stars Brandon Perea, with horror icon Lin Shaye returning as paranormal investigator Elise Rainier, one of the franchise’s most beloved characters. Jacob Chase, director of ‘Come Play,’ helms the latest instalment.
