The embers are glowing again—and this time, they’re ready to ignite into full-blown dragonfire. HBO Max has dropped the first teaser for the highly anticipated third season of ‘House of the Dragon,’ offering a tense, shadow-drenched glimpse at the next chapter in the brutal Targaryen civil war.
Based on Fire & Blood by George R. R. Martin, the series continues to unravel the bloody history of House Targaryen—set nearly two centuries before the events of Game of Thrones.
Season 3 looks set to plunge deeper into the chaos of the Dance of the Dragons, with the teaser hinting at escalating alliances, betrayals, and devastating battles. Familiar faces return, but the tone is darker, heavier—like a storm gathering over King’s Landing.
The series remains under the creative guidance of co-creator and showrunner Ryan Condal, alongside co-creator and executive producer George R. R. Martin. Executive producers include Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock, and Philippa Goslett.
Season 3 brings back a formidable ensemble cast, led by Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint and Rhys Ifans.
They are joined by returning and new cast members including Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, James Norton, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, Abubakar Salim, Tom Cullen, Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Joplin Sibtain, and Barry Sloane.
