Bringing the character of ex-police officer Phil Broker to life on the big screen, action/thriller Homefront boasts a script penned by the action legend himself, Sylvester Stallone, and will be hitting cinemas in just over two months.
Jason Statham is front and centre as Broker from Chuck Logan’s series of novels, and now the first trailer has launched over on Yahoo Movies.
A widowed ex-DEA agent retires to a small town for the sake of his 10-year-old daughter. The only problem is he picked the wrong town.
James Franco stars opposite Statham as the antagonist, Gator, with Kate Bosworth, Winona Ryder, Rachelle Lefevre, Frank Grillo, and Clancy Brown completing the cast.
Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Kiss the Girls) is at the helm for his first feature since 2008’s The Express, with Stallone adapting Logan’s original novel of the same name.
With five novels in the series already in print, there’s every chance for a franchise here if things go well later this year.
Homefront is set to be released on November 27th in the US, with its UK release date falling just two days later on 29th November.
