Yesterday I put up our interview with Ray Winstone and Ben Drew (Plan B) for their new movie The Sweeney and today we get to hear from a couple of the supporting actors in the form of Hayley Atwell and Damian Lewis. Both have recently been courted by big American movies and TV series with Hayley appearing in Captain America and Damian portraying Nicholas Brody in hit TV series Homeland. I ask them what it is about shooting here in England that they love and what they knew about The Sweeney before they began making it. I made the mistake of implying Damian was old as you’ll see from the opening and of the interview and also I can assure you that I had a burn on my lip, it’s not tomato sauce left over from the chips that they had in the press room while we waited to go in!
I also managed to get in a question about Captain America: The Winter Soldier and ask Hayley if there’s any news of her appearing in it. It sounds from her answer that she won’t be there but never say never. I also asked about the cut scene from The Avengers but according to Atwell, it was ever filmed.Unfortunately the interview seems to have cut her off at the end so you’ll have to make do with me for the last bit rather than looking at her beautiful face! Ufor5tunately I ran out of time to ask Damian about Homeland but it was very much on my list to talk about!
