Empire Magazine has revealed their two Terminator Genisys covers along with a new batch of stills which offer up a better look at what’s to come in the movie which is set to rewrite the history of the franchise.
The events of Terminator Genisys kick off when John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

Despite some major changes to the timeline, Terminator Genisys does actually revisit and recreate some key scenes from the original, and the special effects team had the task of merging Schwarzenegger’s face from the first film onto a body double, while also using scans of the actor now to recreate his mannerisms.
