As one door closes, another opens, none truer than for the current assembly of Avenger’s character. It’s being reported that Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye will be getting the Disney+ treatment.

The house of mouse is currently developing a spin-off limited series for the streaming service which will have Jeremy Renner attached to reprise his role. The series will be based on Renner’s skilled archer character Hawkeye (aka. Clint Barton) as he passes the torch to Kate Bishop, the character who has taken up the mantle after Barton in the comics.

The Hawkeye series will join other Marvel characters such as Loki, Falcon and Winter Soldier, and one about Vision and Scarlet Witch who will all obtain their own limited series.

The series is expected to be six to eight-episode limited runs and will be produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige.

Also in news – ‘Shazam’ to get a sequel; ‘Black Adam’ also makes a move.

In other Marvel/Disney+ news, ahead of the Disney investors presentation, it has been unearthed that two Marvel documentaries are also n the cards.

The first being ‘Marvel’s 616’ is an anthological documentary series exploring “the intersection between Marvel’s rich legacy of stories, characters, and creators and the world outside your window.” Different filmmakers tackle the episodes which look at the real world context of Marvel Comics stories and their impact.

The second documentary will be titled ‘Marvel’s Hero Project’ and will focus on positive changes several young heroes are making in their own communities – inspiring kids who have dedicated their lives to selfless acts of bravery and kindness and are celebrated for the true superheroes they are.
